Wedding Photography Tips: Shooting, Editing, and Slideshow

If you’re curious what documentary wedding photography looks like from start to finish, this one’s a proper walk-through. I take you through how I cover a wedding day while staying candid and unobtrusive, focusing on real, unposed moments that actually tell the story, rather than trying to manufacture highlights.

You’ll see how I approach the different parts of the day (prep, ceremony, confetti, speeches, dancing), what I’m looking for in terms of gesture and interaction, and how I’m thinking about light and background as things unfold. It’s not about being everywhere at once. It’s more about being in the right place at the right time, and letting people be people.

After the shooting side, I jump into Lightroom and edit a selection of key images, showing the decisions I make to keep things natural but still punchy. Then the video ends with the finished wedding slideshow, so you can see how the individual moments build into a complete narrative.

There’s also a supporting blog post for this video linked on the page if you prefer to read alongside watching.
