Fujifilm 56mm F1.2 Mark II Lens Review: Everything You Need to Know

In this video I review the Fujifilm 56mm f/1.2 Mark II and try to answer the questions that actually matter if you’re thinking about buying it: is it sharper, is it faster to focus, and is it worth it for the way you shoot?

The 56mm has always been a popular focal length in the Fujifilm world because it’s ideal for portraits, details, and those tighter moments where you want subject separation without having to get right in someone’s face. The Mark II version promises improvements, but the important bit is whether those improvements show up in real use, not just on paper.

I start with a quick product overview, then move into sample images so you can judge the look for yourself. After that, I do a Lightroom walkthrough, because it’s one thing seeing a JPEG on screen and another seeing how the files respond when you start working with them properly. By the end, you should have a clear sense of what the 56mm Mark II does well, who it suits, and whether it’s genuinely a meaningful upgrade from earlier options.
