Why I Switched to Fujifilm 14 Years Ago (And Never Looked Back)

This is the full recording of a talk I gave at The Photography and Video Show at ExCeL London, on the Fujifilm Stage. It’s basically a walk-through of my Fujifilm journey and, more importantly, what those cameras allowed me to do in the real world when the pressure was on.

I cover why I switched to Fujifilm in the first place, what I’ve learned from shooting with (almost) everything in their line-up, and how that kit shaped the way I work. It’s not a spec-sheet presentation. It’s more about photography as a practice: storytelling, confidence, speed, and making pictures that feel honest. I talk through personal work, street photography, studio and GFX, and of course weddings - over 700 of them - because that’s where cameras either help you or get in the way.

There’s also a section on autofocus (the good, the bad, and what I actually do in the field), editing Fujifilm files, and how I approach colour and monochrome depending on the job. And we finish with a proper audience Q&A, which is usually where the most useful stuff comes out because people ask the questions that are on everyone’s mind.

If you’re already a Fujifilm shooter, you’ll probably recognise a lot of the cameras and moments I mention. If you’re not, this is still a decent look at what the system feels like when it’s used for years, across lots of different genres, with no hype involved.
