Fuji X-M5 Review – Who Is This Camera REALLY For?

Thinking about the Fujifilm X-M5? This is a proper, real-world look at Fuji’s smallest X-Series camera - not a spec-sheet read-out, more the stuff you notice once you’ve actually held it and tried to use it.

I go through what the X-M5 does well, where it feels compromised, and who I think it genuinely makes sense for. Because that’s the thing with small cameras: sometimes “small and light” is exactly the point, and sometimes you realise you miss the bits you’ve taken for granted on bigger bodies.

In the video I cover the size and handling, the PASM dial (and what that says about who Fuji is aiming this at), stabilisation, the short video mode, and the viewfinder question. We also talk through the film dial, battery life, storage, and autofocus with AI subject detection. Then I wrap it up with the most important part really: who should buy the X-M5 - and who probably shouldn’t.

If you’re considering the X-M5 for photography, video, or vlogging, this should help you decide whether it’s a smart little travel companion or one compromise too far.
