Viltrox 75mm F1.2 Review: Sample Images & Thoughts

This video is my practical review of the Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 for Fujifilm X-Mount. It’s a fast short-telephoto prime with a very specific appeal: shallow depth of field, strong subject separation, and that slightly compressed look that works beautifully for portraits and detail shots. But I didn’t want to judge it on “nice bokeh in a garden” alone, so I’ve included a mix of real shooting, including faster-moving scenes.

You’ll see plenty of sample images as I talk through what the lens does well and where it might not suit everyone. I cover general shooting first, then put it into a more demanding scenario with horse trials, where autofocus behaviour and handling matter far more than they do in a calm portrait session. After that, I look at 100% crops and run through a bit of editing so you can see how the files hold up when you start pushing them around.

By the end, you should have a clear sense of whether the Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 is the kind of lens you’d actually enjoy owning, not just admiring online.

Note: there’s a purchase link for the lens referenced in the video and on this page.
