In this video I take a proper look at the Viltrox 27mm lens for Fujifilm and run it through the things that matter in day-to-day shooting. It’s an appealing focal length on APS-C, and depending on how you shoot it can end up being a genuine “leave it on the camera” lens. So rather than just reading specs, I wanted to judge it by how it behaves in the real world.

I cover build quality first, then focus speed and acquisition, because that’s usually the difference between a lens you trust and one you keep second-guessing. After that we talk size and weight, which matters more than people admit if you’re using smaller Fujifilm bodies or you’re trying to keep a travel kit genuinely light.

I also compare it to Fujifilm’s own options, not to declare a winner, but to give you some perspective on where this lens sits in terms of performance, handling and value. And then I finish with the obvious question: should you buy it? That depends on what you shoot, how fussy you are about certain things, and whether you value price, size, or absolute performance most.
