How To Be a Better Photographer In 5 Easy Steps.

In this video I outline five easy but essential ways to improve your photography. It’s not about buying new gear or learning obscure techniques. It’s the foundational stuff that makes a difference whether you shoot weddings, street, family, travel - any of it.

We start with observation, because most people don’t need a new camera, they need to notice more. Then I talk about seeing in monochrome. Even if you never shoot black and white, learning to think in terms of light, shape and contrast makes your colour work better too.

After that, we get into embracing the imperfect. If you wait for everything to be tidy, flattering and “correct”, you’ll miss the moments that feel real. I also talk about P mode, because it’s oddly unpopular for something that can be genuinely useful when you need speed and consistency. And finally, we touch on the currency of likes. If you let likes dictate your taste, you’ll end up photographing for approval instead of meaning.

At the end there’s a short family photofilm as well, just to show how these ideas translate into a small, real-world story rather than a single hero frame.
