My Wedding Photography Approach (Now You Can Learn It Too)

This video is a straight explanation of how I approach wedding photography, and why I’ve stuck with a purely documentary style for well over 15 years. No posing, no set-ups, no steering people into “moments”. Just real, unscripted stuff, photographed as it happens, with as little interference as possible.

After shooting 800+ weddings, running workshops around the world, and having my work shown in places like Tokyo, London and Prague, I realised I’d built up a repeatable way of working. Not a formula, more a mindset and a method. So I’ve pulled it all together into one place as an online course: The Art of Documentary Wedding Photography.

Inside the course you’ll find over 7 hours of content and 30+ in-depth lessons, designed to help you shoot with more confidence, more consistency, and a stronger sense of story. There’s also a support area where you can ask questions as you go, which is often where people make the biggest leaps, because you can sanity-check your thinking with someone who’s been through the same problems.

What you’ll learn includes how to capture real moments without posing, how to anticipate key moments before they happen, and how to use light, composition and observation to make photographs that actually mean something. We also talk about integrity and storytelling, working a room, filling the frame, and staying calm when everything is moving fast.

If you’d like 10% off the course and/or my presets, use code ARTYT10.
