This Black & White Edit in Lightroom

This is a short film showing how I edited a single photograph in black and white using Lightroom. It’s not a long tutorial, more a simple, real-world run-through of the choices that take an image from “fine” to something with a bit of mood and intention.

I start with a quick introduction and a small Judo story (slightly unexpected on a Lightroom video, but it makes sense in context), then I show the edit in two ways. First, using my presets as a starting point, so you can see how I get to a finished look quickly. Then I switch to standard Lightroom tools and build a similar result manually, which is useful if you want the look but you’d rather understand the mechanics.

If you’re trying to get better at black and white editing, this is a nice bite-sized example you can copy and practise with your own images.
