We are going back to winter 2015 for today's blog feature and love Cripps Stone Barn Wedding of Charity & Han-Rui.

They had approached me many months earlier about shooting their wedding, and I was excited as I'd shot at the sister venue (confusingly known as Cripps Barn), but not at Cripps Stone Barn before. It's a charming wedding venue, and even though it was a blustery winters day outside, the inside was cosy and warm and a perfect place to celebrate Charity & Han-Rui's wedding.

I recall arriving at the venue after some bridal prep photography and being greeted by a torrent of rain, but also a barn full of smiling faces. The bride and groom had brought a pastor over from Germany to say some prayers during the service (the legal nuptials having already been done a few days previously).

It was touching to see how both families connected with this. You don't see religious elements to weddings outside of churches, and so it made for a subtle change. The service itself, while serious, had elements of fun too, and most of all, I got a real sense of emotion and happiness between the two of them which was lovely to witness.

As the ceremony ended, the bride and groom and guests mingled around the venue before sitting down to the wedding breakfast. The speeches started with a little music and continued with much laughter and few happy tears too.

I left as the evening celebrations were well underway and Charity & Han Rui had finished performing a beautiful "dance-off" for their guests. Here are a few images from their Cripps Stone Barn Wedding - I hope you enjoy looking at them.
