Authentic & Emotional Documentary Wedding Photography & Fujifilm Cameras

This is the full recording of a webinar where I talk through how I approach authentic, emotion-driven documentary wedding photography, and how I build wedding stories without posing, directing, or forcing moments.

We cover what “true” documentary wedding photography actually looks like in practice, how to spot emotion (and not just the obvious bits), and how to shape a story so it feels dynamic rather than a random collection of nice photos. I also go into editing, especially monochrome, because black and white can be incredibly powerful for weddings when it’s used with intent rather than as a rescue button.

There’s a section on storytelling using the five W’s, which is a simple framework but surprisingly effective when you’re trying to make photographs that read like a narrative. And towards the end, we get into practical business advice too. Nothing flashy, just the fundamentals that help you run a wedding photography business in a way that’s sustainable.

For anyone who’s newer to my work, I’m Kevin Mullins. I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in Wiltshire, and I’ve been shooting in a photojournalistic style for years. I was also one of the first official Fujifilm X-Photographers (back in 2011), and I co-host the FujiCast Podcast. If you’re interested in documentary wedding photography, Fujifilm cameras, and the thinking behind building real stories, this one should land well.
