My Best Fujifilm JPEG Settings from Kevin Mullins
In this video I go through my best Fujifilm JPEG settings from 2020 and show you how I use them in the real world. Most of these settings were built around the newer Fujifilm bodies at the time (X-Pro3, X-T4, X100V and similar), but the general approach translates well across the system. Even if your camera doesn’t have every modern option, you can usually tweak the recipe and get very close.
I run through a mix of colour and black and white looks, including Padilla (monochrome), Kodak Style (colour), Meyerowitz (colour), Parr (colour), Imai (monochrome), 50s Noir (monochrome) and Newspaper (monochrome). I also talk a little about what each one is good for and why you might choose one over another depending on the scene and the light.
A big part of the video is Fujifilm X-Raw Studio. I show you how to use it to create your own JPEG settings and then store them directly onto your camera. It’s a brilliant way to experiment because you can compare looks quickly using the camera’s own processing, without destroying your original files, and without having to guess settings in the field.
If you want a set of practical JPEG starting points, and you’d like to learn how to build your own, this video will give you a clear, repeatable workflow.
