Photo Walks with Kevin Mullins
Looking for something a little different from a workshop? These Photo Walks are relaxed, informal days out with your camera — a chance to explore new locations, meet like-minded people, and enjoy photography for the simple pleasure of doing it.
Each walk is led by me, Kevin Mullins. I’ve been a professional photographer for almost two decades, and while I love teaching, these walks are something else entirely. They’re about looking, noticing, slowing down. No pressure, no critique. Just walking, seeing, and photographing together.
We’ll visit some interesting places — often a mix of well-known streets and quieter corners — and I’ll guide the route. I’ll be there to offer suggestions, help spot potential shots, and answer any photography-related questions along the way, especially if you're using Fujifilm gear (which I know inside out). But this isn’t a structured workshop. You don’t need to take notes or worry about technique. This is more about where to point your camera, not how to use it.
Whether you shoot with a phone, a DSLR, a mirrorless setup or something vintage, you’re welcome. It’s all about seeing the world a little differently and capturing moments you might otherwise miss.
What to Expect:
A guided walk (usually 11:30am to 5:30pm)
Interesting routes curated for photography opportunities
A lunch break and time to explore at your own pace
A relaxed, sociable environment — no lectures or pressure
Informal guidance and tips along the way
Who is it for?
Anyone who enjoys photography, regardless of experience level or gear. You don’t need to be an expert — you just need to be curious.
If you’re after a more structured learning experience, check out my Street Photography Workshops, which go deeper into technique and include exercises and critique.
How is this different from my Street Photography Workshops?
That’s a great question — and an important one.
My Street Photography Workshops are focused learning days. We dive into technique, composition, light, moment… I give exercises to challenge your eye, and we do image reviews and critique. It’s structured, immersive, and aimed at helping you improve how you shoot and see on the street.
These Photo Walks on this page are something different.
They’re slower. Gentler. Less about teaching — more about enjoying photography for the sake of it. Think of it as a guided stroll with a camera, rather than a day in a classroom.
I’ll take you to interesting locations, point out moments or scenes that might make a good frame, and I’m always around if you’ve got questions. But there’s no pressure. No assignments. No expectations.
It’s photography without the intensity. A chance to recharge, re-engage, and maybe even rediscover why you picked up a camera in the first place.
If you’re looking to learn, challenge yourself, or develop your skills more seriously — the workshops are ideal. If you’re looking to explore, relax, and photograph with good company, the Photo Walks might be just what you need.
