A good headshot is not about looking perfect. It is about looking like yourself on a good day — the sort of photograph that sits comfortably on LinkedIn, your website, a speaking bio, or a pitch deck.

— The work

What comes out of a single session.

These six images are all from one booking; different outfits, different framings, some tightly cropped, some wider. This is the range you get from £250, no time limit, no rushing.

— The approach

Straightforward,
relaxed, genuine.

My work sits somewhere between classic headshots and portrait photography.

Yes, we will make the clean, simple images you need for LinkedIn, company profiles, Spotlight, or press, but I also love creating more storytelling portraits that feel like a still from a film rather than something churned out in five minutes against a white wall.

Sessions are relaxed. Most of the people I photograph are not models and do not particularly enjoy being in front of a camera. That's completely normal.

My job is to guide you, keep things calm, and create images that feel genuine, professional, and a little bit special.

We'll cover the clean images you know you need, plus a few with more character, in the same session at the same price.

— Beyond the standard headshot

Storytelling headshots &
editorial portraits.

Alongside clean, simple headshots, Kevin creates what he thinks of as storytelling portraits — images that say a bit more about who you are and what you do. These are not dramatic or showy; they are just photographs with a little more atmosphere, context and personality.

The sort of photograph that looks like a still from a film rather than a passport photo.

Most sessions produce both the straightforward headshots you know you need and a handful of more atmospheric, storytelling portraits that you will end up using everywhere — about pages, author photos, personal websites, social media profiles.

The editing is not clinical. It has a gentle, film-inspired quality that suits thoughtful and creative people — and anyone who wants their portrait to feel like part of a story rather than a form of ID.

— USEFUL TO KNOW

  • Working with hands and posture to create natural, uncontrived energy in the frame

  • Playing with light and composition for a filmic, cinematic quality rather than a clinical finish

— Before you arrive

What to wear &
how to prepare.

You do not need to stress about what to wear or how to prepare. Here is the short version — and for more detail, there is a dedicated page covering everything.

  1. Dress one step smarter than everyday.

Solid colours and simple patterns work better than large logos or very bold designs. Layers give you options.

  2. Bring props if you want them.

Books, instruments, tools of your trade - anything that reflects what you do or who you are.

  3. Don't practise poses.

Kevin will direct you gently and clearly. The best results come when you arrive relaxed, not rehearsed.

Questions about the style.

Anything not covered here — get in touch, and Kevin will reply directly.

  • Yes. Most of the people on this page said something similar at the start. Kevin keeps conversation going, works at your pace, and gives clear but gentle direction. You will never be left wondering what to do or where to look.

  • Absolutely — and that is usually the best approach. The session begins with the clean, straightforward headshots you know you need for LinkedIn and formal use, then moves into storytelling portraits with more character, atmosphere and personality. Both in the same session, same price.

  • Yes, but lightly and with a filmic quality. Temporary blemishes and minor distractions are tidied — your face is not dramatically altered. The final images look like you on a very good day, not a retouched version of someone else.

  • There is no time limit. Most sessions run naturally between one and two hours. If you want to take longer, change more outfits, or explore additional looks, that is completely fine. There is no clock-watching and no pressure to hurry.

  • Your fully edited images are delivered via a private online gallery within two to three weeks of your session. You will receive between 10 and 20 images, all edited in both colour and monochrome, ready to download at full resolution.

  • The studio is in Malmesbury town centre, Wiltshire — a two-room setup with flexible lighting. Parking is available in the town a couple of minutes' walk away. Kevin will advise on the best options and send directions when you book. The studio is straightforward to find and easy to reach from the M4.

  • Yes — most clients travel from across the West of England. Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Swindon, Dorset and further afield are all well represented. The studio is easy to reach by road and the journey is typically worth it. Kevin also photographs clients from London and further across the UK.
