—THE FUJICAST · PHOTOGRAPHY PODCAST

Photography, business, cameras and the creative life

The Fujicast is a long-running photography podcast hosted by documentary photographer and educator Kevin Mullins.

Expect honest conversations about cameras, creativity, editing, business, photography books, personal projects and the peculiar lives photographers tend to lead. There will be useful answers, definite opinions and, almost certainly, the occasional diversion.

Despite the name, you don’t need to shoot with Fujifilm. You don’t even need to care about cameras quite as much as Kevin does.

—THE FUJICAST PODCAST

The show goes on.

In January 2019, Neale James and I switched on the microphones and recorded the first Fujicast. Neither of us really knew how long it would last—or, frankly, whether anybody would listen.

People did. Rather a lot of them, as it turned out.

Together we recorded 325 shows, answered thousands of questions and talked about almost every conceivable corner of photography. We discussed cameras and lenses, of course, but also creativity, business, confidence, mistakes, personal projects and the realities of earning a living with a camera. We met listeners, interviewed some remarkable photographers and went off on more tangents than either of us could possibly remember.

In the summer of 2026, Neale decided it was time to step away from The Fujicast and concentrate on his own show.

He will always be an enormous part of the programme’s story, and I’m immensely proud of what we created together. Those years, conversations and questionable pieces of advice remain here in the archive.

I have now taken full ownership of The Fujicast and will be carrying it forward.

Inevitably, the programme will sound a little different. It should. But its heart remains the same: proper conversations about photography, honest answers to real questions and enough light relief to prevent any of us from taking the whole business too seriously.

Whether you’ve listened since episode one or have only just discovered the show, you’re very welcome.

— THE FUJICAST PHOTOGRAPHY PODCAST

Come for the cameras. Stay for everything else.

The Fujicast began with Fujifilm, but it was never intended to be a recital of specifications or a programme exclusively for one brand of photographer.

Across the archive, you’ll hear conversations about:

✓

Cameras, lenses and choosing equipment that genuinely suits you

✓

Documentary, street, wedding, portrait and personal photography

✓

Lightroom, editing, workflow, AI and the changing photographic world

✓

Finding your voice and becoming a more observant photographer

✓

Running a photography business without losing your enthusiasm for photography

✓

Listener questions, photographic dilemmas and gear purchases we would rather forget

Some episodes are practical. Some are thoughtful. A few are probably best described as loosely controlled.

That’s rather the point.
