1 Click Filmic Processing

It's been a strange 15 months.

Around this time last year, I took delivery of my Fujifilm X100V and, due to the pandemic, and I've yet to create a review because I haven't been able to shoot with it much.

Really, my focus throughout the pandemic has been the survival of my business, and I've been obedient to the governmental guidelines.

That said, I'm excited for July and the (hopefully) release of all restrictions. I've got a busy July of weddings booked and also some new commercial clients coming on board.

I've been taking what I would consider "snapshots" with the X100V during this time. Nothing considered at all. It's somewhat ironic, don't you think, that my first book was called "From Snapshots to Great Shots".

Whilst I don't consider any of my work Great, I have enjoyed using the X100V over the 15 months - and it's been cathartic to a certain extent, not even to touch my X-Pro3 or X-T3 cameras. They will be coming out of hibernation for the July weddings.

With that in mind, I wanted to share a handful of those snapshots with you but with a specific emphasis (and I hope you don't mind) on how I have tried to create a filmic look in one click with my presets.

These images are one-click conversions using the Simple Monochrome 3200+ Preset in my new Essential Film Presets pack. No other adjustments, just one click and export.

The whole idea for this particular preset is to give it a very grainy, filmic look. Of course, the full pack has over 50 different presets and utilities. Take a look at the video at the bottom of the page to see them in action. Also, remember, that the packs work against files from any camera. Not just Fujifilm.

For those of you who have supported me with the presets, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I know for many that the presets are not of interest, so hopefully, the images will simply make you smile.

I feel that smiling makes things much better.

Now that the UK seems to be getting under a bit more control, and I have my second jab tomorrow, I'm putting together a schedule of posts for this site, which will hopefully start to filter through very soon.

Keep Safe, Keep Well & Happy Snapping,

Kevin.

PPS. And this seems a little odd, granted. Every Thursday at 3:30 pm I have a live Internet Radio Show on Incapable Staircase. It’s essentially a Country, Folk, Acoustic, Roots show. If you are into such things, you catch up with all the shows on MixCloud. But to make things easier here is the latest show (with a 22 minute Country Mix thrown in for good measure).

Essential Film 2021 Lightroom Presets by Kevin Mullins

Film - Edition 2 Lightroom Presets
£10.00

A complete film-inspired Profile, Preset & Workflow Pack for Lightroom

Film Edition 2 is a structured Lightroom preset and profile pack designed to help you create film-inspired edits quickly and consistently. Built around a broader mix of colour looks, monochrome styles, Legends presets, and practical workflow tools, it gives you a flexible editing system rather than a handful of isolated preset effects.

This is not a random collection of slider-based presets. The live page positions Film Edition 2 as a more advanced follow-on from Film Edition 1, with a stronger focus on film stock emulation and a new modular approach to building your own look. It also introduces the Legends Presets, which aim to capture the feel of some of your favourite photographers, alongside colour- and monochrome-profile-based processes.

If you edit regularly in Lightroom, you already know the problem. You want variety and character, but you also need the pack to stay practical across a full set of images. Film Edition 2 is built to give you that balance. The profile-based looks give you a strong starting point, while the included utilities and noise-reduction tools help you shape and refine the result without slowing your workflow.
