Business Branding Photography for a Fractional Marketing Founder
When people think about branding photography, they often imagine stiff headshots, folded arms, and something that feels a bit too corporate.
That really wasn’t the goal here.
This recent studio session was for a young entrepreneur with a background in music who is now focused full-time on building a successful fractional marketing company. He needed updated imagery that felt professional, current, and confident, but still like him.
He wanted strong, honest branding photographs that he could use across his website, social media, press features and wider marketing.
What this session included
Updated branding portraits for a young entrepreneur
Fresh imagery for a successful marketing company
Multiple outfit changes for broader brand use
Final images delivered in colour and monochrome
Edited in my signature filmic style
Branding photos should look like the person behind the business
One of the things I always think is important with business branding photography is that the final images need to feel connected to the person’s real character.
Coming from a music background, there was already a sense of style and identity there. I wanted to shape that personality into a set of images that would work for business. Images, certainly, but also a bit of edge and presence.
A branding session with multiple outfit changes
For this shoot, we worked through multiple outfit changes to create a broader set of branding photographs.
A single look can be useful, of course, but several wardrobe changes give a business owner much more flexibility. Some images can feel more formal and polished, perfect for a homepage, LinkedIn profile, or speaking engagement. Others can feel a touch more relaxed and approachable, which often works better for social media, newsletters, behind-the-scenes content, and ongoing marketing.
Rather than ending up with one decent headshot and a few variations, the client comes away with a set of images that can support the business properly over time.
Delivered in colour and monochrome
Every selected image is delivered twice: once in colour and once in monochrome, both edited in my signature filmic style.
It gives clients more flexibility: colour is often the natural choice for websites, LinkedIn profiles and wider brand use, where warmth and consistency matter.
Monochrome offers something different: a slightly more timeless, distinctive option that can work beautifully for personal branding and editorial-style use.
Branding photography for entrepreneurs, founders and creative business owners
This kind of shoot is ideal for founders, freelancers, consultants, and business owners who have outgrown old headshots or phone photos and need something more up-to-date.
That doesn’t mean the photographs need to feel formal in the old-fashioned sense. In fact, probably the opposite.
Good branding photography should help people feel like they already understand something about you before they ever get in touch.
It should suggest professionalism, yes, but also clarity, confidence and personality. For someone running a marketing company, that’s especially important. You are, in a way, part of the brand.
People are buying into your thinking, your approach, and your presence as much as they are into the service itself, and the photos should reflect that.
Business branding photography in my Malmesbury studio
These images were made in my photography studio in Wiltshire, where I photograph a range of portrait sessions, including actor headshots, business branding photo shoots, editorial-style portraits and personal profile work.
Studio sessions work particularly well for this sort of branding photography because they allow us to keep things simple and controlled. We can focus on expression, styling, posture, outfit changes and the overall feel of the images without distractions.
If you’re a business owner, entrepreneur, consultant, or creative professional in need of updated branding photography, my studio sessions are designed to deliver a set of images that feel natural and useful across all parts of your business.
