Actor Headshots for Spotlight – Studio Session in Malmesbury

Actor headshot with wardrobe change, Spotlight-ready

This headshot session was with a client who travelled over from Trowbridge, specifically needing a solid set of images for his Spotlight profile.

Clean, current, and versatile… but still with a bit of character. That’s always the sweet spot, I think.

The brief: Spotlight-ready, simple, and believable

Spotlight images don’t need to be flashy. In fact, flashy can work against you.

What they do need is range without looking like you’ve become a different person. So we went for a set that covers the essentials:

  • a strong, straightforward “this is me” headshot

  • a softer option (approachable, calm)

  • something with a bit more edge

  • a few subtle changes in expression and angle that feel natural, not performed

Shot in my fully equipped Malmesbury studio

Everything for this shoot was done at my portrait studio in Malmesbury.

We can control the light properly, we’ve got space to reset quickly, and when you’re aiming for agency headshot consistency, that controlled environment really helps.

We ran through a few lighting looks (nothing wild), kept backgrounds clean, and made sure we had options that work for different casting types.

Colour and monochrome – included for every client

A quick thing I always mention, because people sometimes assume it’s an add-on.

All clients receive their selected images in both Colour and Monochrome, finished with my signature film-like look.

It’s not about making things “trendy”. It’s more about giving you a consistent, polished finish that still looks like skin and still looks real.

Thinking about updating your Spotlight headshots?

If your current Spotlight or actor agency images are more than a couple of years old, or it doesn’t really look like you anymore, it might be time.
