New Years Eve Wedding at The Rosendale Pub
One of the reasons I love being a documentary wedding photographer is due to huge variations in people that I meet, and places that I shoot and this Wedding at The Rosendale Pub in South London was no exception.
One week I could be shooting in a high-end hotel in Mayfair, and the next week, in a pub in South London.
And so it was for Taz’s and Carrie’s New Years Eve wedding back in 2015.
I started the day at their flat where Carrie and her mum and bridesmaid were putting the final touches to their dresses.
From there, it was a short drive to St. John The Evangelist Church in Dulwich and I remember it being a lovely cold but crisp winter day.
As the photographer, I love to observe people and try to capture as much of the emotional element as I can.
I don’t believe in taking 100 photos of the same thing and pulling the best one; for me, I like to see a moment unfold and try to capture it quietly and quickly.
Even before the ceremony, I could tell this was going to be a very emotional wedding with lots of hugging and kissing before Carrie arrived in the Camper Van.
Onto the Pub
After the ceremony, the guests boarded a Routemaster and headed over for the rest of the Wedding at The Rosendale Pub.
It’s a really cool pub, nestled in a quiet street of South East London.
The downstairs was full of New Years Eve revellers, and the wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing were held upstairs in the two large function rooms.
As alluded to already, it was an emotion filled wedding, and I like to think that I have given Carrie and Taz a set of memories that will last forever of their gorgeous Wedding at The Rosendale Pub.
Here is a small selection of some of my personal favourites from their wedding:
