Wedding at The Red Barn Blindley Heath ~ Sam and Lorna

I’ve know Sam a long time.  We played rugby together for many years and I class him as a good friend.

I’ve seen his relationship with Lorna blossom from the outset and I was privaliged and honoured that they asked me to photograph their Wedding at The Red Barn Blindley Heath.

I started my day as I often do with Lorna and her bridal preperations.  Lot’s of “fuss and fun” I call this part of the day.  Family coming and going, flowers arriving, champagne popping.  There is always a lot of excitement during this period of the day.

From Lorna’s parents home I headed over to St. Mary the Virgin Church in Buckland where I met Sam and his friends and family who were arriving for the wedding.

Once the wedding ceremony was complete, Sam and Lorna stepped out into lovely Spring sunshine before heading off for the rest of their Wedding at The Red Barn Blindley Heath.

During the service, we’d been entertained by The London Welsh Rugby Club Male Voice Choir – many of whom I knew personally due to my time playing rugby at London Welsh.

I was thrilled to see them at The Red Barn too.

It was a really lovely day – one that I know Sam and Lorna enjoyed….and, as it happens, so did I.

Kind Words from Sam & Lorna

[dt_quote type=”blockquote” font_size=”big” background=”fancy” animation=”left”]”Hello Kev,

Thank you for the link – we’re absolutely delighted with the pictures, they’re stunning. We’ve been on tenterhooks since Monday when you put that sneak preview up online!

We’re going to show our parents in person over the weekend, before sending the link out to friends or putting them up on Facebook etc.

Lorna was sobbing last night at the picture of her and her Dad walking up the path towards the church, followed by her mum and two sisters, it’s a fantastic picture of the whole family.

You’ve captured some really special moments – I loved the shot of me, Em and Jean at the reception. They had sent me a London Welsh pin badge with their acceptance card, which I was showing them on my inside pocket – I think Em was quite chuffed I’d worn it.

Also, the picture in the church vestibule when our witness Tom, was offering me a last chance to back out before he signed the register (all in jest, of course!). Amazing how many little stories you’ve somehow captured in photos.
