Sorcha and Graham approached me last year to photograph their Berkshire Wedding in early 2012. It turned out that The Olde Bell Hurley wedding was to be my first one of 2012. I hadn’t met Sorcha or Graham before the big day but I was welcomed warmly upon seeing them at The Olde Bell.
The day started out with some bridal prep photography of Sorcha and her gorgeous bridesmaids in the bridal suite while the boys enjoyed a few pre-wedding tipples in the bar downstairs. The weather forecast for the day was interesting to say the least.
Heavy snow was due to arrive almost exactly the same time as my coverage was due to end. Of course, its a shame almost that the snow didn’t arrive during the day from a photographic point of view but it was a relief to get home that night, despite a five hour delay on the motorway and the liberal use of some salt and a shovel to help me out on occasions.
Sorcha look absolutely stunning as her and her father walked down the aisle of the barn across the road from the main inn. Graham appeared perhaps a little nervous, though I know he was very excited about seeing Sorcha for the first time. The ceremony itself was lovely and Sorcha and Graham enjoyed some laughs, and some tender moments too in front of their gathered friends and family.
Once the ceremony was over, Sorcha, Graham and their guests moved across to the Malt House for a drinks reception before returning to the barn for later for some speeches and dancing. As I left, the snow started falling and it really was a beautiful scene for a beautiful wedding. The Olde Bell Hurley Wedding of Sorcha and Graham was my first of 2012 but has already become a firm favourite of mine. A lovely couple, funny and friendly family and friends too.
