When a good friend of mine approached me to shoot The Old Bell Malmesbury Wedding of her sister I was delighted to help out.
On the day itself, we were blessed by fairly settled weather (unlike the day before, or the day after).
St Aldhelm is actually my own parish church and The OId Bell is the closest possible venue to my house. In fact, from my back garden I can hear the revelry going on at weddings there regularly.
I took the short stroll up to Lizzies mum’s house in the morning to spend some time at an increasingly busier household.
It was really lovely to see all the excited faces of the children and adults – getting ready for the day and especially when Lizzie walked down the stairs in her gorgeous wedding gown.
I left the house and walked down the hill to St Aldhelm Church to meet up with Anthony and his grooms men.
The church was a pretty busy environment with flower deliveries and people arriving.
We had a short period of light rain whilst waiting for Lizzie – not enough to dampen spirits.
Once Lizzie was at the church door, I headed back down the aisle myself to get a shot of her walking down with her dad.
St. Aldhelm is a lovely church – I sit in there every Sunday myself – but what I had never noticed before was the beautiful soft light that was falling at the foot of the altar. It made for some gorgeous images throughout the wedding ceremony and considering it was the end of November I think we were pretty lucky in that respect.
Once the ceremony was over the the now very happy couple headed out for the rest of this Old Bell Malmesbury wedding.
Those of you who read my blog often will know that I class myself as a people watcher, rather than a “wedding photographer”. Its the interaction between people, on a wedding day, that I strive to use as the vehicle to tell the story of the day pictorially.
I adore the time after the ceremony when the guests and the bride and groom mingle for the first time.
Below is the Summary Photofoilm of The Old Bell Malmesbury Wedding of Lizzie and Anthony. Included are 80 images from the wider selection that all make me smile.
Underneath the Photofilm is a selection of my favourite stills from their wedding.
I really hope you enjoy these images, and please feel free to share on social media (it really helps me out!).
