Welcome to the Porthilly Farm Wedding of Lucy & Ed.
Now, let’s see. This Porthilly Farm Wedding…. A seaside wedding. In Cornwall. With Pasties. And a Welsh Male Voice Choir.
It’s my idea of the perfect wedding to photograph.
I headed off to Cornwall in June last year for my first ever Porthilly Farm wedding and started my day in nearby Rock with Lucy and her bridesmaids and family.
I could tell at this early stage, with the popping of champagne corks and raucous laughter that the day would be a lot of fun. And I was right.
As you know, I’m a documentary wedding photographer, which means I don’t stage any element of the wedding day. And this is true even when dad is waiting to see his daughter for the first time in her dress.
Because I want my clients to remember the actual moments in years to come (rather than remember what the photographer told them to do) it’s lovely to be there as a witness when these precious moments unfold.
Once the prep was completed, I headed over to Porthilly Farm and once I’d finally found the gorgeous little hillside church of St. Michael’s, Rock, I set to work photographing the rest of day.
Cornish Pasties, Music and Fun
The church was packed with friends and family and almost as many (it seemed) Welsh Male Voice Singers who serenaded Lucy and Ed as soon as soon as the ceremony was finished.
Thereafter, we all took the short walk to the marquee which was perched gorgeously above the Rock estuary and it was time for the guests to enjoy the Cornish Pasties, music and games.
The view out over Rock and the sea is breathtaking, and the weather stayed with us throughout (despite threatening a little earlier on).
Here are few of my favourite images from Lucy & Ed’s Porthilly Farm Wedding. I hope you like them.
Feel free to share on social media if you so wish, it does help me.
What did you think? I hope you enjoyed looking at these Lucy & Ed’s wedding pictures.
