I’ve known Steven, another wedding photographer, for a long time and he’s not only a great wedding photographer but also a good friend.
I was honoured when he asked me to photograph his and Carla’s Kent Wedding way back in the early summer of 2013.
I knew Steve and Carla were family orientated, and they have a couple of gorgeous little girls who are similar in age (and antics, I soon found out) to my two little children.
Part of my role as the wedding photographer is to tell the whole story of the day. As you are probably aware, I do this in a candid, reportage way, but that doesn’t mean that the important details of the day are not captured.
Many couples spend months planning the small details and they are just an important part of the wedding day coverage as a great big hug from Aunty Maud.
When I saw the table place names I immediately smiled. When I’m travelling across the country, I am very conscience of the fact that I’ve been invited into a very personal space and so when I saw how personal the place names were, I’m not ashamed to say that a little tear welled up inside me.
I don’t think I need to say any more about why I love this picture.
