Sometimes, a scene reveals itself right in front of your eyes that you just can’t not photograph.
In this case, I was shooting the wedding of Chantelle & Andrew at Holcombe Emmanuel Church.
As the guests arrived along a road that was at a lower elevation to the church I knew I wanted to try and shoot something that was basically making me smile.
As a documentary wedding photographer its imperative to me that an image is “as it happens” and as such, this image could perhaps be stronger if just the lady in the hat was in the scene. However, that didn’t happen on the day, and so I’ve shot at an angle to try and give the most impact and achieve the image I was after.
It’s a little bit of humour on a Monday afternoon.
It made me smile when I shot it, and I hope it makes you smile too.
