I have some vivid memories of my own family weddings that I attended as a child.
I remember eating too much, probably drinking too much fizzy drink and I remember the dance floor.
The sight of the [then] 70’s or 80’s DJ lights mesmerised me and whilst now, I’m definitely not a “dancer”, when I was a child I longed for the moment I could kick off my shoes and slide around like John Travolta, ruining my trousers and making myself dizzy.
As a dad myself, I love seeing the children with their parents at this stage of the day and I’ll keep my eye out for those types of images that whilst not technically challenging, nor artistically creative, will remain long in the memory for all involved.
I really love this image, mostly because it reminds me a little of the days when the only thing I had to worry about was whether dad was going to drop me on my head. Oh, and the bellyaching laughter and smiles …..
