Last July I was the wedding photographer at Naomi and Dan’s really lovely wedding at Herons Barn in Berkshire.
It was a really gorgeous day and as yet, I’ve not blogged the whole wedding – but it will come soon, I promise.
I was looking through some images of this wedding, as I have another shoot at Herons Barn soon and I found myself lingering on this confetti shot.
It minded me of why this image was in colour, as opposed to black and white. Many of you know that a lot of my work is as a black and white wedding photographer but as I always say to clients who ask about it, if colour is a focal point, or even a reason, of the image being shot in the first place, then it will remain in colour.
I really love the vibrancy of this image of Dan and Naomi having the confetti thrown over them. Additionally, of course, there is quite strong colours in the guests clothes, trees and not forgetting the confetti itself.
I enjoy this part of the day, when the confetti is broken out in a very spontaneous way by the guests. As the photographer, I have no choice but to emerge myself in the moment here and reactions are super important here too.
In Dan and Naomi’s case, they lingered and walked quite sedately through the confetti, but some couples positively charge through – which is even more of a challenge, but equally as much fun.
I really love this picture, as mentioned, because of its vibrancy, but moreover because as I spent the rest of the day at Herons Barn with Naomi and Dan, this picture really sums up their great bubbly personalties and clear love of life and of each other.
I hope you love this picture too & please feel free to share on social media or comment below.
