Why do I love this picture?
Lots of smiles and laughter.
A quick image today from a recent wedding that I shot at The Olde Bell, Hurley.
The wedding was actually of friend and fellow wedding photographer Lee and his lovely wife Laura.
Lee is an accomplished photographer himself and so being asked to shoot his wedding was of course an honour.
The day was wonderful, relaxed and fun, and the image below of Laura chatting to a family friend, accompanied by one of her bridesmaids having a “right old laugh” really sums up the day for me.
Images like this are often difficult to achieve, although they look simple. The reason being, dual moments like this rarely occur naturally at the same time as each other in the same location.
Of course, you could stage a shot like this, but as a documentary wedding photographer, that is not my remit and I’m extremely proud of the fact that every image on this website is “real moments” – not staged or contrived in any way.
I really like this image, and I know from a technical point of view its a challenge but from an aesthetic point of view its a “snap”; and that really is what it is…..its a snapshot of a really lovely moment at a really lovely wedding.
I hope you like it too.
