When Frank and Sandra asked me to photograph their Wedding at Kelburn Estate, Scotland it wasn’t a difficult decision for me.
Up until this wedding, Scotland was the only place in the United Kingdom that I hadn’t shot a wedding (I have another two booked in this year).
This wedding was incredible for so many reasons; not only was it an incredibly beautiful day up in Ayrshire, but the day was almost as much about their lovely children, and friends children as it was for themselves.
I started the day at the lovely Balvonie House nearby where Sandra and her children and the rest of her family were staying.
I think it’s fair to say the children were like the proverbial bottle of pop.
The ceremony itself was a humanist one. I’ve shot many Humanist ceremonies and love both the simplicity, but also the emphasis on the importance of the bond between the couples.
I don’t think there was anything traditional about this wedding. There were horse rides for the kids, bubbles and wizards.
But most of all, of course, this Wedding at Kelburn Estate was about the marriage of Sandra and Frank.
It was my first time shooting a Wedding at Kelburn Estate, though I have another booked in later this year. It’s really a beautiful wedding venue set in the most glorious grounds.
Here are a few of my favourite pictures from Frank & Sandra’s Wedding at Kelburn Estate. I hope you like them:
