For the past five days or so I’ve been attending the annual Societies International Photography Convention at The London Hilton Metropole.
Primarily I’m there to speak at the four seminars that I put on, but to also listen and be educated by the many other photographers that are there.
This year, I also put in for my “Associateship” which is defined by The Societies as:
The notes for Licentiate submissions also apply to Associate images, but with the added requirement that we wish to see far more creative interpretation, better choice of location, more thought and faultless technique. Less than 10% of members qualify at Associate level.
Of course, I’m very pleased and I’d like to give a shout out to my lab One Vision Imaging who did a remarkable job in printing and mounting the twenty images to the exacting standard needed.
So the images – well, here they are; 20 frames….press play, go full screen and maybe turn the volume up just a little.
I was also really pleased to get two images awarded merits in the 20″ x 16″ competition which is another huge international competition with entries from all over the world.
The two images that received these awards were in the categories of Wedding Photography and of Documentary.
Image taken at a Hampton Court House wedding last year that will feature on the blog very soon.
Probably my favourite image of 2014. The arrival of the beautiful little Maja. You can see her full birth story in photographs if you wish to.
As ever, please feel free to share this on Social Media, with your friends or anyone whom you may think be interested. Also, if you are considering a documentary wedding photographer for your wedding, or you want to discuss birth photography, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.
