My very last wedding…..of last year… was an Asylum London Wedding.
I’d never been to the Asylum before and before I actually go to see the splendour of this amazing wedding venue, I was greeted by Tom, the groom, sat outside preparing his speech.
It was the 29th of December and it was extremely cold so after chatting to Tom briefly I dipped inside for my first glance at this derelict, but refurbished, old Asylum / wedding venue.
I think you’ll agree that the venue is fairly unique.
Once Tom had greeted his guests, we waited patiently for his gorgeous bride, Fiona to make her entrance. And some entrance it was too.
A genuinely beautiful ceremony, if a bit chilly, followed by some honest-to-goodness hugging, crying and congratulating.
Thereafter, Fiona, Tom and their guests took a Route-master to The Ivy House pub where the rest of their celebrations happened.
Both Fiona and Tom are actors and come from acting backgrounds and it was an honour to listen to some of the stories that emerged through the speeches.
After they had all tucked into the amazing wedding breakfast that The Ivy House had prepared it was time for the traditional first dance and then some pretty crazy Ceilidh dancing in the pitch dark.
I loved the day and below are a few of my favourite images from Tom and Fiona’s Asylum London Wedding. I hope you enjoy looking at them.
Thank you so much! You have done a wonderful job and we are so happy with the photographs. Yes you have managed to capture the happiness and fun that we had on the day and we are so glad our friends and family had the same experience. And judging by the photos they certainly did.
