Whatley Manor Weddings
I’ve done a few Whatley Manor Weddings now. It’s a wedding venue very close to my home here in Malmesbury and is probably one of the very best hotels in the whole of Europe. As a wedding venue Whatley Manor is perhaps one of the places I look forward to working at the most. The venue is gorgeous, down to every single detail, the staff are amazing and essentially, it’s just a down right spectacular place to get married.
Last September I shot the latest of my Whatley Manor Weddings and this was very special. Rebecca and Richard contacted me just a matter of hours before the wedding believe it or not. They were very excited as they had decided to come down to the Cotswolds and get married at the last minute.
I was free, of course, and that meant I was part of an amazing ceremony that is, in its own right, part of the amazing love story that Rebecca and Richard have weaved themselves.
There was Rebecca and Richard and four very close friends in attendance. That was it. My task over the afternoon was to simply document pictorially the events unfolding in front of me. It was just lovely and the sun shone throughout the day.
I started, as usual, with a few photos of Rebecca and her friends during bridal prep and although I was with them for only a matter of minutes there are some shots here that really sum up to me what weddings are about, and how I see them. I love the emotion and touch, and seeing the amazing relationships between friends and family unfolding is a real privilege when it’s so intimate.
The lads had had a couple of sharpeners in the bar, but the nerves were showing with Richard immediately prior to the ceremony. All nerves vanished, of course, once his lovely bride arrived at the outside pagoda where they were getting married.
There after it was hugs, drinks and dinner with their friends. I was there as Richard and Rebecca handed out some pretty cool gifts and as Richard presented his new bride with a wonderful guitar which I know she completely adored. Perhaps not as much as the wedding ring though, which I spotted her eyeing up many times throughout the afternoon……
Hi Kevin,
I don’t know what to say! We are completely amazed how your photos have portrayed our day and how it takes us back to the same feelings we had on the day. They are incredible and I know Rich would say the same if he were to write this email. It’s amazing how I don’t recall seeing you in your position for many of the photos; I certainly was not expecting that simply due to the size of our party. We are just astounded.
Thank you! I’m certain we could not have had better results with another photographer. This is how all wedding photography should be.
A million times thank you,
As usual a very small selection of my favourite images from perhaps one of the most intimate of Whatley Manor Weddings.

OMG… and I mean that in a non Americanised fashion. Very true and good work Kevin. If I saw these photographs minus your name, I would know you took them. Excellent selection.
