Weddings at Abbey House Gardens
Weddings at Abbey House Gardens have to be one of my favourites throughout the year. Primarily because The Abbey House Gardens is a wonderful wedding venue. Lots of lovely gardens to explore and a magnificent country house and out buildings to plan the wedding around.
I’m also fond of Weddings at Abbey House Gardens because it’s literately a 30 second walk from my studio….
The wedding of Claire and Mike was back in July but I’d been booked to photograph their wedding around 18 months prior. Both Mike and Claire are Malmesbury locals – in fact, Mike delivers my albums and parcels to my studio so I see him quite often. It was nice to see many familiar faces at the wedding from various parts of the town.
As usual, the day started with some photographs of Claire and her bridesmaids getting ready upstairs in the Abbey House. Barbara and Ian Pollard (of naked gardener fame) have create a magnificent haven of beauty in the heart of Malmesbury, and for all Weddings at Abbey House Gardens Barbara and her assistants are on hand helping out wherever necessary to make the wedding day run very smoothly.
Sadly, the weather on this summers day in July wasn’t particularly good. Lots of wind and rain (which I think was par for the course for most of the Summer to be honest).
However, that certainly didn’t dampen any spirits and once the ceremony had been completed in the lovely library the guests congregated under the large gazebo in the garden to mingle and celebrate with Claire and Mike.
The day and the wine flowed and after some lovely speeches in the Orangey after the wedding breakfast it was time for me to take my leave. I bumped into Claire and Mike the next morning. They looked a little “celebration weary” but clearly so very happy.
Mike and I had a look through the photos last nigh and they are wonderful. You have captured some really lovely moments! It was lovely to see aspects of the day from another’s perspective. I watched the slideshow a few times last night and I know I will never tire of looking at the pictures!
If you are planning Weddings at Abbey House Gardens, Malmesbury please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your photography requirements.
As usual, a small selection of some of my favourite images from this Weddings at Abbey House Gardens day are presented here:

Agree with Steve, love the shots (great hairspray shot – always find that difficult!) – looking forward to seeing ours!
Kevin,
Amazing images. Well done. Still using the Fuji’s. . .?
Thanks Nik – this was earlier in the year but yes, X-Pro1 was used for some of the day.
Great work Kevin… Love that last shot… great moment captured
Gorgeous images again Kevin. Still nailing the ‘touching’I see, fantastic.
Lovely as always. You’re such an inspiration!
Some real crackers Kevin. Love the little girl and the cakes.
Superb images as ALWAYS… one particular one caught my eye, the chaps head appearing out the window. I like surprises in collections of photographs, and this certainly does that Kevin!
Love the Abbey and the Gardens. Great photos
