Summer had arrived when I headed to Essex for the Wedding at Gosfield Hall of Stacy and Emma.
“We are having our Wedding at Gosfield Hall”… They had contacted me some months previous and I was delighted when they mentioned they were going to have their Wedding at Gosfield Hall.
I’d finally be able to see the fabled bridal suite and preparation area.
And indeed, it was an incredible room.
Lots of mirrors. Mirrors are good, mostly, but it can be difficult for a photographer to try to avoid photographing themselves….I think I managed it though.
After bridal prep I headed to the Long Library where the ceremony was to be and met up with Stacy and his grooms-men.
Soon enough, Emma and her dad were walking down the aisle and I loved being able to witness (and capture) those fleeting glances between the two of them.
I could see them visibly relax as they slipped their hands into each others.
Its really important for me as a documentary wedding photographer that I have no impact on the events of the day and I pride myself on being able to capture these very tender moments that occur during the ceremony both silently and with full respect for the integrity of the moment itself.
I loved watching Emma’s mum and dad from my vantage point in the ceremony room and I once Stacy and Emma had headed downstairs it was plain to see by the hugs and happiness how much love the family and guests had for the newly weds.
When the weather is good, I think almost every Wedding at Gosfield Hall has a confetti line down the steps onto the lawn and of course this wedding was no different.
I really enjoyed my first Wedding at Gosfield Hall and I already have a couple more lined up for 2016.
Here are a few of my favourite images from this Wedding at Gosfield Hall, Essex.
I hope you like them.
