A few weeks back I headed down to Illfracombe in North Devon for Kate and James’ wedding at Tunnels Beaches.
Tunnels Beaches us a pretty unique wedding venue. Nestled into the rocks and overlooking the beach, with the right weather, an outside ceremony and wedding breakfast can be nothing other than breathtaking.
And so it was on this September day; the weather was balmy warm and Kate and James had the perfect wedding in their perfect location.
As the speeches started, Kate’s mum took to the microphone and told some very warming memories. The temperature was beginning to drop, and so was the sun.
It’s impossible to not stop and look on in amazement when the sun is setting like this. I think autumn in the United Kingdom is the absolute best time of the year for incredible sunsets.
Never-the-less, my job wan’t to stare at the sunset, but, rather, to make sure that it was included contextually in the wedding photography story of the day.
And hence I’ve selected this photograph as one I really love from that day. I think it really sums up the weather, the warmth of the day and Kate’s mums role in the speeches too.
I hope you love this photo too.
