St John the Baptist Church

St John the Baptist Church, is a very quaint and quintessentially English (Anglican) church in the lovely rural village of Mildenhall. Mildenhall itself, is a situated just to east of Marlborough on the road to Ramsbury.
The church of St John the Baptist originates from before the Norman Conquest – some parts of the tower are undoubtedly Saxon in date – although the present building dates from the thirteenth century. In 1816 the interior was refurbished by the villagers; of particular note are the box pews and the twin pulpit and reading desk.
The church is referenced by Sir John Betjeman (“a church of a Jane Austen novel”) and is chosen in Simon Jenkins’s England’s Thousand Best Churches.

Littlecote House Wedding Photography
Back in May, I photographed the wonderful wedding of two lovely clients. The ceremony was held at the beautiful St John the Baptist Church, Mildenhall with the reception being held at the sumptuous Littlecote House, Hungerford, Berkshire.
The previous week had been strewn with, lets just say “issues” for them, but by the time the big day came around they were able to have a wonderful time, as did their guests – many of whom had defied the ash cloud and traveled from Australia.
Here are a few of my favourites from the edit to date. As always, each of these images were taken in a non-obtrusive reportage way. The weather was great, the bride and groom looked stunning and the venues were delightful. What more could you ask for at a wedding? – oh, perhaps a little Sabrage to boot too.
EDIT: Unfortunately, due to the military background of the clients, I am unable to show these images. However, I have had the following feedback about this wedding:
“My God, I am so very, very, very glad that we found you. The photos are absolutely incredible – it’s lovely to be reminded of how beautiful everything was and how much fun we and our guests had. You have captured such a diversity of events, facial expressions and moods, and it is a surprisingly complete account of our day – thank you for covering everything so well.”
