Aberystwyth, Constitution Hill
Aberystwyth, Constitution Hill; A photograph taken on my iPhone 4S during a recent weekend break with my family. As will all my iPhoneography images the photo is captured and edited completely within the phone itself.
Constitution Hill is a hill found at the northern end of the Aberystwyth promenade, overlooking Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion, Wales.
Aberystwyth Cliff Railway climbs to the summit, which you can see in the photograph. Sadly, it was shut at the time of the year we visited.
We were spending a long weekend at a friends cottage in the beautiful Llangrannog. Unfortunately, but not unpredictably, the weather wasn’t great and so we found ourselves traveling over to Aberystwyth for the afternoon (well, early afternoon as I had to be back in time for the rugby….. which was a disaster
).
Although I am Welsh born and bred, I’d never been to “Aber” as it’s colloquially known to the locals – though played rugby against many a touring team from the area.
The coastal drive between Llangrannog and Aberystwyth, sweeping through Aberaeron (home of the famous rugby 7s tournament) is simply spectacular – even in driving rain and mist.
It’s a beautiful part of Wales…..of the UK in fact and I fully intend on seeing more of it in the near future.
So, a quick snap of Aberystwyth, Constitution Hill shot on my iPhone and edited in Snapseed as usual.
