My date with Yervant
A little while back I spent three very valuable and inspiring days with Yervant and his incredible wife Anie. For those of you who don’t know of Yervant, he is probably one of the world’s finest Wedding Photographers and Anie is probably one of the finest business motivation speakers I have come across.
The seminar lasted three days, in which time we shot with some stunning models in London’s Covent Garden and got to see Yervant in all is image-editing wizardry.
The shots below are my favourite from the selection of images I shot on the seminar (click the images to see larger versions).
I am busy editing summer weddings at the moment but over the next month I hope to add more of the model shots to this gallery.

Bridal Preparation Photography
Often, when discussing the wedding photography format of the day, the bride will suggest that she does not want any bridal preparation photography before the wedding.
This of course, is absolutely fine, however, this time of the day offers us the opportunity to capture some very special pre-wedding moments. It also affords us the chance to take some detail shots, such as the shoes, the dress and the flower arrangements before all the hurlyburly of the day commences.
Don’t worry, we don’t sit in the room with a camera waiting for you to physically get into your dress; all the bridal preparation shots are carefully considered and crafted and we have the experience to know what to photograph and when. Normally, we need around 20 minutes for this preparation opportunity.
We can, of course, use the time immediately after the make up has been applied to take some stunning bridal portraits too. The bride will be looking her most radiant at this time, and with her mother and/or closest friends around the time is often full of fun and joy….. a great time to take some beautiful bride portraits.

A different angle on Wedding Photography
Sometimes the traditional wedding photographs are perfect (especially when processed correctly and more importantly, composed correctly). However, contemporary wedding photography style has afforded us the opportunity to be much more creative with our choice of shots and processing.
The following three shots are all very different from the traditional style of wedding photography, and, using the Wedding Documentary style of photography, with a touch of colour toning or black and white conversions we can create some very atmospheric wedding imagery that the bride and groom will cherish.

Black and White Wedding Photography
I love black and white photography, and I think it can work really well for lots of different styles in wedding photography.
In this post, I present several different types of black and white wedding shots that I have put together for the purpose of this blog, rather than for the wedding albums.
The images show a range of different conversions, from Low contrast Black and White in the back-lit image of the make-up shot, to sepia tones in the portrait image infront of the blossom tree.
