Hampshire Wedding Photographer
Last December I had three weddings and Katie and Toby’s Hampshire Wedding was the first in the run. The wedding ceremony itself was held at the lovely St. Mary the Virgin church in Fordingbridge. I started the day by shooting Katie having her hair done and the last minute preparations at the family home where the reception was to be held later in the day.
Sadly the weather wasn’t wonderful, with drizzle throughout the day – but that didn’t dampen any spirits. I really enjoyed the build up to this wedding, with the lads and guests enjoying a warming tipple of port before the ceremony. The children in the bridal party were absolutely delightful throughout the day. I could almost sense the sparks of excitement off them just before they walked down the aisle. The ceremony was a romantic candlelit affair with the peels of Christmas Carols throughout the ancient church.
Onto the family home for a wonderful marquee reception. The guests mingled in the dancing area while the caterers put the final touches to a gorgeous spread in the room next door. The table decorations and flowers were particularly spectacular (flowers were by Emma Lapin). Being a winter wedding, near Christmas, there was a very festive mood in the room and all the guests were very chilled by time the curtains were drawn for them to go into dinner.
The speeches followed and were, as I expected, exceptionally emotional and very touching (humorous too of course). Once the dinner was finished, the dancing started and a it was certainly a 10 out of 10 performance from Toby and Katie on the dance floor.

I could just congratulate you on another set of great images, but instead I’ll pick on one image. The first dance shot where the focal point is on the girls in the background is simply superb. It adds another dimension to a photograph.

Thanks Dafydd – you wouldn’t believe how long I’ve been trying to get a shot like that. I’m not 100% happy with it….. it will come, hopefully.
