Wedding at The Barn at Berkeley
It’s been an incredibly busy summer so time to catch up with some wedding photography blogging.
I met Ed and Hannah what seems like a couple of years ago now to discuss their wedding at The Barn at Berkeley in Gloucestershire this June. A really lovely couple, who, by the time I got to shoot the wedding had planned their wedding down to perfection and it was a lovely event – full of friends and family enjoying themselves. The weather was a fine too, which was perfect as The Barn at Berkeley has some lovely gardens to the rear that the guests could sprawl out into and enjoy.
I started my coverage with bridal preparation photography of Hannah and her family at a small cottage nearby. There after, I headed up to Gloucester to the St. George’s Church, where the ceremony took place.
Heading back to the Barn at Berkeley for the reception which comprised of some relaxing in the garden, a sumptuous meal, some emotional and very funny speeches, a Ceilidh and what can only be described as a “balloon head competition”.
In recent months I’ve seen a couple of “first’s” for my wedding photography career. I’ve experienced “Welly Wanging” and at Ed and Hannah’s wedding it was time for another first – balloon sculptures. Of course, I’ve seen magicians etc amazingly turn a small balloon into a perfectly formed poodle before, but I’d yet to see anything quite like this at a wedding. It was totally amazing quite frankly. All the guests took part – some more successful than the others admittedly. The winner of the “Balloon Head” competition is shown in the final frame below. Good effort.
