The Hare and Hounds Wedding
The end of May saw me shooting at The Hare and Hounds, Westonbirt twice. The Hare and Hounds Wedding of Claire and Ross in this post was actually first, followed a couple of days later by Nicolas and Emilie’s French Wedding a few days later. I remember the weekend well of course, because it was so sunny. Something we have been deprived of here in the UK ever since I think.
Anyhow, I began the day by shooting some bridal prep photos for Claire and her attendants at The Cotswolds Four Pillars Hotel at South Cerney. After leaving the girls in the final throws of excitement I headed off to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cirencester where I met up with Ross and his friends and family. A wonderful ceremony followed by perhaps the most eccentric (and I mean that in the loveliest way possible) priest I have ever met.
After spilling out into the lovely summer sun it was a short journey over to Tetbury for The Hare and Hounds Wedding reception. Of course, garden games abounded the lawn and the guests enjoyed their drinks reception before sitting down to their wedding breakfast and some very memorable speeches.
There was a short break between the end of the speeches and the dancing for some gentle team rivalry in the garden.
It was another glorious day and The Hare and Hounds Wedding of both Claire and Ross and Nicolas and Emilie a few days after left me with a lovely feeling about both couples who I know will have a very long and happy marriage together.
As usual, a small selection of some of my favourites here. Please feel free to comment and share on social media.

Fantastic storytelling work as ever Kevin. Timing is nailed on every image, great expressions captured.
Children with croquet mallet – my favourite.
Lovely as usual! My favortie photo – the wide shot of the bride having her make-up done with the curtain moving in the background. It’s so subtle and adds to the simple beauty of the moment. What an eye you have!
Fabulous work as ever Kevin. Particularly like the room shot with the ‘neg space,’ I genuinely believe I can feel the breeze floating through those net curtains! Notice a slight change with your black and whites too, or is that me? Very honest work as always.
Thanks Neale – there is a subtle change in the B&W’s recently. Well spotted
Every picture is faultless and just a pleasure to view, thanks for posting these inspiring blogs!
These are really, really good Kevin, every one a winner – superb!
Brilliant, love the serenity during the bridal prep. Also the emotions at church, and during the speeches. And also the games.
Lovely work Kevin, as ever. The confetti shot grabbed me. Felt like a very deliberate and considered framing which I really liked, and a lovely glance between the both of them.
Great work as always Kevin & well spotted Neale with the black and whites. I love how the grooms expressions and personality has been captured throughout these. This post has inspired me to start focussing more on the grooms face when the bride is due to arrive.
Great work Kevin, i love your colours in this post really vibrant
These are all exceptional but I love the Jenga one! Everyones pulled that face at some point during that game!
Stunning stuff Kevin. The sunlight on the lawn shot, amazing!
Lovely job, Kevin. You always nail the nervous groom shots.
Great work Kevin… I like your Black & Whites on this one… great stuff
