Jay and Lindsey approached me to photograph their Cripps Barn Wedding, Bibury last summer. The wedding was to be in April and although we had a bit of a deluge prior to the wedding, the actual day itself was dry and warm.
If you don’t know Cripps Barn, it’s a gorgeous barn conversion in the heart of the Cotswold’s. Recently modernised and refurbished this was already my third wedding of the year there. The venue really endorses all that is good about weddings and allows the guests to mingle by the open fire or spread out onto the lush lawns. One of my favourite wedding venues I have to say.
There was no bridal prep photography so I caught up with Jay at the barn itself. He was “calmness” personified but I sensed a small amount of nervous excitement during the immediate moments before Lindsey and her bridesmaid’s arrived for the wedding ceremony.
Lindsey was walked down the aisle by her brother and the ceremony was short but very beautiful. Lindsey and Jay are very much in love.
As someone who is often in the perfect view point, the first kiss always tells a story. And in this case, it’s a story of happy-ever-after. Of that I’m very sure.
The whole set of guests spilled onto the lawn after the wedding and celebrations continued through the wedding breakfast and into the evening.
As a story teller, I’m rarely disappointed at weddings when it comes to interaction and mingling between guests and the couple. This is where the real story of this Cripps Barn wedding unfolded.
For my photographer friends, the images at this Cripps Barn Wedding were taken with a selection of Fuji X100S and Canon 5D Mark III.
