Cotswolds Weddings

PinExt Cotswolds Weddings

Being based on the North Wiltshire Gloucestershire border means I often find myself photographing beautiful Cotswolds Weddings – and this was no exception. Richard and Kate were married at the increasingly popular Cripps Barn (I’m there again this weekend in fact).  It was a late booking for a stunning midweek wedding with their friends and family coming from the United States and Scandinavia to help them celebrate the wedding.

I very laid back affair, with Richard and Kate walking down the aisle together.  Just before the wedding, there had been an almighty rolling storm that swept across the area.  By the time the wedding came around the storm had moved on but it left some wonderful skies in its wake.  If you know Cripps Barn, near Bibury, you will know it is in an absolutely stunning location with acres of rolling fields beyond the barn itself.  The guests, especially the children, took time to explore the fields and play games before heading back in doors for the great meal and speeches.

There is an emphasis on black and white wedding photographs in this selection, and I particularly liked some of the images of the kids.  Many of the photographs in this blog post were shot with the brilliant Fuji X100 camera.  This gives me an added scope when shooting as a documentary wedding photographer.  I use the Fuji X100 more and more at every wedding these days.

Later, there was a céilidh with everyone getting involved – and some confusing moves led to a couple of early collisions.  Everybody seemed to pick it up in the end though.

Guests at the wedding can view the whole gallery here.

As usual a small selection of some of my favourites from this wedding.  Please feel free to leave a comment and if you would like to discuss your Cotswolds Weddings photography at Cripps Barn then please don’t hesitate to contact me.

FABULOUS, love the pic of the chap in the bottom left hand corner accentuating the clouds – fantastic image. And the dancing shots too are wonderful Kev. All that movement, did the X100 pop those for you? Really incredible work.

The final shot, of the little girl and her dad was a moment I don’t think would even have happened if I hadn’t had the X100 in my hands at that point. If I’d been using one of my big DSLRs the little girl would have reacted completely differently (as she had been during the day). Its a wonderful addition. Thanks for the kind comments Neale.
